The information in Collaer 1988 (“February 1923”), probably taken from the earlier Milhaud catalogue of Georges Beck, is incorrect. (See Additional references, below.)
A small notebook of Germain Prévost in the Mills Music Library, University of Wisconsin at Madison, indicates the date of the first performance, with a charming note from Milhaud, also dated March 13, 1923, on the next two pages. (In his notebook, Prévost also mentions concerts that took place in February 1923. See Problems, questions, above.)
